LAYA YOGA SAMPRADAYA Esoteric Teachings
By Swami Lalitamohan G.K., Laya Avatara
Sage Gorakshnatha of Nepal, a disciple of Matsyendranath, is the modern founder of Laya yoga tantrika. Laya means to “re-absorb” “fusion” “dissolution” and as a Yoga system means to re-absorb all of the energies and forces normally dissipated in daily living.
Laya Yoga is an ancient form of meditation, with concentration on energy centers or chakras. There are five main energy centers in the spine and two in the head. Laya yoga attempts to locate these energy centers and channelize them through meditation. Laya essentially means to dissolve all karmic patterns or conditioning and merge into the transcendental reality. It also means deep concentration and making an effort to overcome the ego, thereby rising to a higher state of consciousness, called Turiya.
The student must have profound knowledge of Raja Yoga, Sankhya and Tantra philosophy. It involves the arousal of Kundalini Shakti, its control and conversion into higher forces and powers. Tejas and Ojas (higher forces) are produces through these practices and the highest of all emotional-mental ecstasies are created by these techniques. Like all the higher aspects of Yoga, these practices must be undertaken with a competent Guru who has the personal experience of the arousal and the control of such shakti. Continue reading

Sexuality is closely related to spirituality in several ways. In its negative aspects of lust, sexual excess, degradation and rape, it appears as the antithesis of spirituality, and in this light it has been seen in the Christian tradition. However, in its positive aspects our sexuality can open our heart to love, and enable us to have experiences similar to meditative states and mystical bliss during or instead of an orgasm and its afterglow. In a less obvious way, sexual energies can be channeled upward to develop our energy centers or chakra system and higher energy bodies. According to esoteric and yoga teachings, this is all part of our spiritual evolution.
The idea of celibacy for priests, nuns and monks is to spiritualize sexual energies as in meditation, rituals and other devotional practices. While this generally involves conscious exercises as in yoga, Christian mystics commonly transformed their energies without conscious awareness through intense Continue reading
The Trigger of Orgasms
By Kevin Williams, 2014
Many people are surprised to learn that NDEs and out-of-body states can be triggered by orgasms. Scientists know that the largest sex organ of the human body is the brain. Human brain wave patterns show distinct changes during orgasm which indicate the importance of the brain’s limbic system in the orgasms. Male and female brains demonstrate similar changes during orgasm, with brain activity scans showing a temporary decrease in brain activity of large parts of the cerebral cortex with normal or increased activity in the limbic areas of the brain.
Research has shown that the emotional centers of men’s and women’s brains also deactivate during orgasm, but to a lesser extent than in women. Brain scans on both sexes have shown that the pleasure centers of a man’s brain show more intense activity than in women during orgasm according to Judith Horstman in her book, The Scientific American Book of Love, Sex and the Brain. Traditional Eastern sexual rites, called Tantra Yoga, may have emerged from early Hindu Tantra as a means of triggering biochemical transformations in the body to create a heightened states of awareness in both partners achieved by “kundalini energy.” Continue reading
THE SEVEN RAYS – What Are They?
“We are told that seven great rays exist in the cosmos. In our solar system only one of these seven great rays is in operation. The seven sub-divisions constitute the “seven rays” which, wielded by our solar Logos, form the basis of enless variations in His system of worlds. These seven rays may be described as the channels through which all being in His solar system flows, the seven predominant characteristics or modifications of life, for it is not to humanity only that these rays apply, but to the seven kingdoms as well. In fact there is nothing in the whole solar system, at whatever stage of evolution it may stand, which does not belong and has not always belonged to one or other of the seven rays. ” (R I 163) Continue reading
Information About Personality Types
From Personality Page
Personality typing is a tool with many uses. It’s especially notable for it’s helpfulness in the areas of growth and self-development. Learning and applying the theories of personality type can be a powerful and rewarding experience, if it is used as a tool for discovery, rather than as a method for putting people into boxes, or as an excuse for behavior.
The sixteen personality types which we use in our assessment are based on the well-known research of Carl Jung, Katharine C. Briggs, and Isabel Briggs Myers. Carl Jung first developed the theory that individuals each had a psychological type. He believed that there were two basic kinds of “functions” which humans used in their lives: how we take in information (how we “perceive” things), and how we make decisions. He believed that within these two categories, there were two opposite ways of Continue reading

VITALITY AND MAGNETISM
The vitality coursing along the nerves must not be confused with what we usually call the magnetism of the man – his own nerve-fluid, specialized within the spine, and composed of the primary life-force intermingled with the kundalini. It is this fluid which keeps up the constant circulation of etheric matter along the nerves, corresponding to the circulation of blood through the arteries and veins; and as oxygen is conveyed by the blood to all parts of the body, so vitality is conveyed along the nerves by this etheric current. The particles of the etheric part of man’s body are constantly changing, just as are those of the denser part; along with the food which we eat and the air which we breathe we take in etheric matter, and this is assimilated by the etheric part of the body. Etheric matter is constantly being thrown off from the pores, just as is gaseous matter, so that when two persons are close together each necessarily absorbs much of the physical emanations of the other. The Occult Sun: Part One
By Elva Thompson, 2015
Everything is one of a pair of opposites…. The Kybalion.
Occult Tradition: the polarities of the sun
According to esoteric tradition the sun has two polarities, positive and negative: a physical sun and a spiritual sun. The seat of the sun is the third chakra of Fire and resides in the solar plexus of the human energetic system; this is also dual and can be divided into Fire rising (+), Fire at neutral, and Fire descending (-).
The rising sun
The dawn Sun is the movement of Fire rising upwards into the fourth chakra of Air (the heart field). The sound of Fire rising in Pythagorean intervals is the mystic 6th C+A. At twelve noon the Sun is at rest in the centre point, and then descends into the second chakra of Water (Emotions). Continue reading
